1. Is Material Girl part of a franchise?    Top

No, Material Girl is not a franchise of a national chain.  Material Girl is a privately owned business located in Omaha, Nebraska.  As a single entity, we control the products we purchase and promotions we offer to our customers.  This approach allows us to listen to the needs of our customers and give attention to those who patronize our company.  We do not have the corporate mentality of "get 'em in...get 'em out".  We appreciate our customers and the business we receive from them.  

2. Do you accept credit cards?     Top

Yes, we accept all forms of payment:  checks, credit cards, debit cards, and money orders.  We ask that cash not be sent in the mail.  Regarding credit cards, we accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.  For personal checks, there will be a 10 day delay in shipping to allow your check to clear the bank.

3. Do I have to have a Paypal account to purchase from you?     Top

No, you do not need a Paypal account.  Paypal is simply our payment processor of our online transcations.  When you "Proceed to Checkout", on the left hand side you will see "Don't have a Paypal account?  Use your credit card or bank account".  Just click there and you can use any credit card you wish or even your bank account.

5. Why do we use Paypal as our payment processor?  Top

Paypal is the safest and most secure online shopping payment processor.  Your purchases are 100% insured and secure.  Additionally, we never see your credit card information.  Trust is one of the consumer's top reasons why a website is chosen.  With Paypal, there is noone safer to use.  Visit their website at www.paypal.com to view more about their policies and procedures.

6. What is to the best way to care for my Material Girl products?     Top

Most Material Girl handbags and wallets can be easily maintained.  After carrying these products, you may happen to spill or get a stain on your bag.  First, attempt to clean the spot with a damp cloth.  If the spot still remains, use a small amount of Goo Gone.  Test a small spot on either the inside of the bag or bottom of bag to make sure it doesn't discolor the bag.  This rarely happens, but we encourage you to test it just to be safe.  Once you pass this test, put the Goo Gone directly on the rag, not the handbag/wallet.  Rub out the stain.  If this does not work, you may need to check with a professional cleaning company to inquire about stain removal.

We also recommend you spray your bags with ScotchGuard before carrying them for additional protection.

Handbags that have rhinestones are not meant for everyday use.  Material Girl cannot guarantee the permanency of the rhinestones and recommend you treat these bags with special care.

7. I am nervous about online purchases.  Is the transaction safe?     Top

It is our goal to make you 110% comfortable with our company and the purchases you make with us.  Regarding our company, we have a perfect record with the Better Business Bureau and adhere to the ethics set forth by them.

All purchases made online go through our secure payment processor.  All payments are processed through Paypal.  Your purchase is 100% protected.  In fact, Material Girl never sees your credit card number.

8. Are there incentives to hosting a party?     Top

Yes!  Depending on the final sales of your party, you will receive a credit towards the purchase of Material Girl merchandise.  The credit is valid for 12 months from the end of your party.  You may spend it when you want and on whatever products you want.

10. What is your price match guarantee?    Top

Simple.  Find the exact product listed on our website for a lower price anywhere else on the web and we'll beat it by 10%!  The price match guarantee does not apply to limited/special edition handbags.
11. Do your local parties involve a sales pitch or presentation?     Top

No, the philosophy of less is more holds true here.  Material Girl does not believe in the hard sell.  When it comes to shopping, customers need to feel comfortable.

Local parties are in format of an Open House.  Your friends can come and go as they please.  As your friends arrive, they can simply peruse the products at their leisure.  As the host, you are welcome to serve drinks, food, or any refreshments you would like.  It is simply up to you as what you'd like to do.  The bottom line, there will be NO formal presentations or sales pitches of any kind.  Our store is your store, so to speak!

12. I am outside the continental United States, what is my shipping?   Top

Material Girl ships worldwide, so getting your order to you won't be a problem.  Simply e-mail us where you live along with your tentative order, and we will let you know your shipping options and costs.  Most times international shipping is FREE!
13. Does it cost to join the Platinum Frequent Buyer's Club?     Top

14. What material are the handbags made from?     Top

Most of the handbags will state the material under each item.  Those made of real leather will state so.  

For those made from leatherette, this material is referred to as a type of man-made material that very closely resembles genuine leather.  It looks exactly like leather, requires little or no maintenance, and usually last longer than real leather. 

15. If I return an item, how should I package it?     Top

If possible, return the item in its original packing.  If you do not have the original packing, or are only returning part of an order, it is best to return the items in a box.  We ask that you do not use padded envelopes for returns as it will have an increased likelihood of being damaged.  Material Girl cannot provide refunds for poorly packaged items.  Generally, if the item is wrapped an shipped in a sturdy box, you will not have any problems.  If you have questions before returning a package, please let us know.
