1. is material girl part part of a franchise?    Top

no, material girl is not a franchise of a national chain.  we are a privately owned business located in omaha, nebraska.  as a single entity, we control the products we purchase and promotions we offer to our customers.  this approach allows us to listen to the needs of our customers and give attention to those who patronize our company. 

2. do you accept credit cards?     Top

yes, we accept all forms of payment:  checks, credit cards, debit cards, and money orders.  we ask that cash not be sent in the mail.  regarding credit cards, we accepts visa, mastercard, american express, and discover.  for personal checks, there will be a 10 day delay in shipping to allow your check to clear the bank.

3. do i have to have a paypal account to purchase from you?     Top

no, you do not need a paypal account.  paypal is simply our payment processor of our online transactions.  when you "proceed to checkout", on the left hand side you will see "don't have a paypal account?  use your credit card or bank account".  just click there and you can use any credit card you wish or even your bank account.  your information is kept just as secure if you do not have a paypal account.

material girl uses paypal as the payment processor of our online credit card transactions.  paypal is a global leader in online payment solutions with more than 164 million accounts worldwide. available in 190 markets and 17 currencies around the world, paypal enables global ecommerce by making payments possible across different locations, currencies, and languages.  paypal has received more than 20 awards for excellence from the internet industry and the business community - including the webby award for best financial services site, a forbes nominee for best of the web, as well as best ecommerce solution.  you do not need to have a paypal account to pay with your credit card.  we simply use paypal because it insures both the buyer and seller from fraudulent transactions.  material girl also does not keep your credit card information on file.  this will put you at ease knowing your information isn't sitting out there in cyberspace. visit their website at www.paypal.com to view more about their policies and procedures.

6. how do i redeem a promotion code?     Top

during our secure checkout you will come to the final page before you submit your order.  on the left hand side of the page, you will see a link that says "optional instructions".  click on this link and a box will open. please enter your promotional code in this box.  initially, you will pay full price for your order.  however, the promotional code will be attached to your order.  once the promotional code is verified, your appropriate refund will be applied back to your account.  most refunds are applied within 30 minutes of your order being placed but please allow up to 24 hours to see your refund.  if you do not see your refund, please email platinum@materialgirlinc.com.

7. i am nervous about online purchases.  is the transaction safe?     Top

it is our goal to make you 110% comfortable with our company and the purchases you make with us.  regarding our company, we have a perfect record with the better business bureau and adhere to the ethics set forth by them.

all purchases made online go through our secure payment processor.  all payments are processed through paypal.  your purchase is 100% protected.  in fact, material girl never sees your credit card number.

if for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, please review our return policy.  material girl has a 100% commitment to your complete satisfaction.  We value your business and want you to keep coming back!

8. do you offer gift wrapping?     Top

yes!  gift wrapping is a free service we offer to our customers in the united states.  unfortunately, due to customs requirements, we cannot gift wrap international orders.  to receive your item gift wrapped, please just let us know on your order by entering "gift wrap" in the "optional instructions" box.  you'll find this box on the last page of the checkout process on the left hand side, just prior to submitting your order.

to redeem a gift certificate online, it is very simple.  once you have decided what you would like to order, click on proceed to checkout from your shopping cart.  enter your first and last name. under your last name you will see a radio box to check that you want to pay with a gift certificate.  enter the rest of your information from there. 

12. i am outside the continental united states, what is my shipping?   Top

material girl ships worldwide.  free.  so to answer your question....it is free :-).
13. does it cost to join the platinum rewards club?     Top

14. what is material girl's wish list?     Top

do we have something you want, but you want someone else to pay for it??  add the item to your material girl wish list!  simply send us an email with your information as well as what you want to put on your wish list.  we'll keep it on file.  you can then email the person you want to buy it and let them know you have a wish list at material girl.  or.....you can give us their email address and we'll email them to tell them of your wish list.  they contact us, we'll help them place the order, and it comes to you as a 'gift'.  please email all wish list requests to platinum@materialgirlinc.com
15. if i return an item, how should I package it?     Top

if possible, return the item in its original packing.  if you do not have the original packing, or are only returning part of an order, it is best to return the items in a box.  we ask that you do not use padded envelopes for returns as it will have an increased likelihood of being damaged.  material girl cannot provide refunds for poorly packaged items.  generally, if the item is wrapped an shipped in a sturdy box, you will not have any problems.  ultimately, if you still are not sure, simply return the package in the same manner it was shipped to you.  if you have questions before returning a package, please let us know.
